What SERP Visibility is

SERP Visibility is where you rank on Google for the keywords you care about, in the market you sell in, and how that position moves week by week. It is the add-on that answers "did the work we did change anything?" with a number and a date, not a feeling.

SERP Visibility in OnPagePilot is bought separately and runs from the same account as the Core features. It tracks the domains you already have in the platform, with the location and language set per domain.

How OnPagePilot tracks it

Every keyword under a tracked domain is checked once a week for that domain's location and language. Each check is stored, so a keyword carries its whole position history - the first week you tracked it is still there. The rankings table shows the current position, the change since the last check, search volume and the SERP features present on that result page.

Reading the movers

Start the weekly review with the movers, not the table. Each period is split into the keywords that improved, the ones that declined and the ones that ranked for the first time. A decline on a keyword you did not touch usually means the result page changed - a new competitor page, or a SERP feature that now sits above you. An improvement on a keyword you did work on is the proof the work landed.

Competitors on the same keywords

Add the domains you compete with and their positions are checked on the same keywords, in the same location and language, and shown next to yours. When you lose a position, the competitor view tells you who took it; when a competitor drops out, that keyword is worth a push.

Google AI Overviews and other SERP features

Google AI Overviews and the other SERP features are detected per keyword and recorded with the position. A position that has not moved can still lose clicks when an AI answer box appears above it; SERP Visibility records that the feature appeared, so the traffic change has an explanation on the page where you look for it. To see whether your brand is named inside those AI answers, LLM Visibility tracks that side.

Settings per domain

Location and language are set on the domain, and every keyword under it is checked for that market. A domain that sells in two markets is tracked as two domains, each with its own settings, so the rankings you compare are always like for like.

A practical workflow

1. Track the keywords you act on. The ones your pages are written for, plus the ones you want to win - not every keyword you have ever seen.

2. Review the movers weekly. Improved, declined, new - in that order. Date what changed against what you published.

3. Look at the SERP features before the position. A stable position with an AI Overview above it is a different problem from a lost position.

4. Fix the page, not the keyword. A declined keyword points at a page; run it through Topical Authority and the SEO Editor, publish, and watch the next weekly check.

Where to go next

The SERP Visibility feature page shows the rankings table, the movers and the competitor view with product captures. The SERP Visibility FAQ answers the questions we get most often about the weekly checks. The SERP Visibility add-on pricing lists the tiers by number of tracked domains.

  • Weekly keyword ranking updates, every check kept
  • Ranking history with improved, declined and newly ranked keywords
  • Competitor tracking alongside your own rankings
  • Location and language settings per domain
  • Detection of Google AI Overviews and other SERP features
