SEO Editor

How the SEO Editor turns a Topical Authority brief into a page: the brief, the three live scores, internal-link suggestions and the hand-off to AI Writing.

What the SEO Editor is

The SEO Editor is where a plan becomes a page. It is a writing surface with a brief on one side and three live scores on the other, so while you write you see whether the page covers what the ranking pages cover, and whether its structure holds up. It is the same editor whether a person writes the draft or AI Writing does.

It exists because a keyword density counter is not a brief. The editor works from the terms and topics your competitors actually use, and it tells you in real time how far you are from covering them.

A brief that comes from your data

The brief is generated from your competitor session and the researched terms, the pillar and cluster you built in Topical Authority, not from a template someone wrote for every site on the internet. Required terms arrive grouped for where they belong: headings, the article body, and the entities the subject is about.

That is why the brief is different for every keyword and every market: it is a description of what the pages that already rank contain.

Scores as you type

Three live scores update while you write: content, term coverage and SEO. You see which required terms are still missing and where the structure falls short before anyone else does. A score that stalls tells you which heading is thin; a term that stays red tells you what the competitors say that you have not said yet.

The editor suggests internal links to pages that already exist on your domain, so new content strengthens what you have instead of sitting on its own. It shows candidate pages and the published cluster articles on your domain, so a new cluster page links up to its pillar and across to its siblings with descriptive anchor text, not a generic read more.

Hand the first draft to AI Writing

When the brief is ready, AI Writing produces the outline and the draft inside the same editor. You pick the persona (the voice) and the template (the shape) in the editor settings, next to the heading terms, and the scores keep running on what it wrote. A generated draft is scored exactly like a human one.

A practical workflow

1. Start from a brief, not a blank page. Open the editor from a Topical Authority pillar or cluster, so the required terms are already there.

2. Write the headings first. The heading terms in the brief are the structure the ranking pages share; place them before writing body copy.

3. Watch the coverage score, not the word count. Cover the required terms in the sections where they belong; length follows.

4. Add the internal links the editor suggests. Link up to the pillar and across to the cluster before you publish, with anchor text that says what the target page is about.

5. Leave the draft to AI Writing when that is faster, then edit what it wrote in the same editor with the same scores.

Where to go next

The SEO Editor feature page shows the brief, the live scoring, the link suggestions and the AI Writing hand-off with product captures. The SEO Editor FAQ answers the questions we get most often about how the scores are calculated. The Topical Authority guide explains where the brief comes from.
