What AI Writing is, and what it is not
AI Writing is the drafting engine inside the SEO Editor. It does not write from a prompt you type into a box; it writes from the brief the editor already holds, in a structure you approve first, in a voice you defined. The result is scored by the same three live scores as a human draft, so a generated article has to earn its coverage like any other.
It is built for the writer who knows what the page must contain and wants the first draft done in the right order, not for anyone hoping to publish without reading.
Outline before prose
AI Writing starts from the brief and proposes an outline. You approve or change the structure before a single paragraph is written, so the article is built around the topics that matter, not around whatever the model felt like saying. The brief carries the intent, the word count, the heading structure and the required terms for the keyword; the outline is where those become sections.
Section by section, not one blob
The article is generated one section at a time from the approved outline. Any section can be regenerated on its own, so you fix one weak paragraph without touching the nine good ones. That is the difference between editing a draft and starting over: a regenerated section keeps the outline, the persona and the terms it was asked to cover.
Templates for the job
Blog post, landing page, product page, pillar page, how-to, listicle, case study, comparison, FAQ and about page: each template shapes the outline and the tone for that kind of content, with its own word, heading and image targets, and you can create your own. The Content Templates guide lists what each one contains.
Your voice, not the model's
Define brand-voice personas yourself and pick one per article. The same brief written for two brands reads like two brands. A persona sets vocabulary level, sentence length, tone, the words you prefer, the phrases you ban and a sample of real content; the Brand Personas guide walks through each field.
A practical workflow
1. Get the brief right first. AI Writing is only as good as the brief; open the editor from a Topical Authority pillar or cluster so the required terms are already in it.
2. Pick the template and the persona in the editor settings. Shape and voice, chosen before the outline exists.
3. Edit the outline, not the prose. Move, rename or remove sections while it is still a list; that is the cheapest moment to change the article.
4. Generate, then read section by section. Regenerate the sections that miss and leave the ones that land.
5. Finish in the SEO Editor. Cover the terms the score still marks missing and add the internal links it suggests before you publish.
Where to go next
The AI Writing feature page shows briefs, outlines, templates and personas with product captures. The AI Writing FAQ answers the questions we get most often about how the draft is produced. The SEO Editor guide covers the scores that judge the result.
